Hansueli Schlunegger always had a creative streak
even as a child growing up in Switzerland. He dreamed of becoming
a master chef, catering to the in crowds and the upper crust of society.
After completing his culinary education, his early career led him
to some of the great European cities, including Basel, Zurich, Geneva,
St. Moritz, Oslo, and Stockholm.
In 1959 he moved his young family to the
United States and became Chef de Partie at the Western International
Olympic Hotel in Seattle. They eventually relocated to Houston,
where Hans wowed Texans with culinary skills at the Rice Hotel.
