Living Section: Hometown Talk by Joe Herring Jr.
Well, what do you know? We have a new author in town!
Hans Schlunegger, whom many of you know from his long, successful career
in the hotel industry here, has published a novel called “All’
Acqua, A Story of Love and Courage.”
I was given an advance copy of the book, and as I read through it, I
was delighted by this story, set in Mr. Schlunegger’s native Switzerland,
that was both fun to read and well-written.
All’ Acqua is a tiny hamlet in Switzerland, isolated from the
rest of the world. Once a year the Swiss militia holds exercises there.
When some ammunition is stolen by thieves from an old World War II bunker,
the hero, Cpl. Herman Schuller, works to solve the crime.
Can Schuller figure it out? What about the beautiful woman in the fancy
red sports car? How does she it into all of this?
I can tell you how to find out: Mr. Schlunegger will be signing copies
of the book at the Inn of the Hills on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 6 to 7
p.m.
I’m not telling the ending – but you can read it for yourself.
My best congratulations to the new author.
